A host of development agency and civil society led international development initiatives are being organised around Wales. Many of these are being supported by the Welsh Assembly Government's International Sustainable Development Framework, which is encouraging more people in Wales to make an effective contribution to international development and respond to global disasters and emergencies.
"Wales for Africa: The Wales International Sustainable Development Framework" has been produced, highlighting what the Welsh Assembly Government can do to help deliver the United Nations' (UN's) Millennium Development Goals to halve global poverty by 2015.
Grants
Welsh Assembly Government grant funding is made available to support initiatives. The current round is open closed. The next round will open in Autumn 2010.
The new Assemby funded "Territorial Approach to Climate Change" video diary project is following the lives of NGO workers in Uganda. They are regularly updating a blog with their observations of the impacts of climate change. Their first reports capture the prelude and aftermath of the devastating landslide in Baduda.
